I am an Assistant Research Professor at the Maryland Language Science Center, University of Maryland. I am the head of the Field Research Station (FRS) Guatemala, a joint project between the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, Campus Altiplano and the University of Maryland. I teach at the Facultad de Educación of Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, Campus Altiplano.
My research focuses on the documentation and acquisition of Mayan languages of Guatemala and Mexico, especially Q’anjob’al, Mam, Ch’ol, and Chuj. My work on Q’anjob’al and Chuj evaluates the development of the verb morphology.
